Pavillon 333

Pavilion 333 is a very special project in the Kunstareal. Because it was built in 2020 by students of the Technical University of Munich, supervised by Professors Hermann Kaufmann and Florian Nagler. Over a period of several months, visitors to the Kunstareal were able to experience what lies behind the so-called DesignBuild method. Architecture schools use DesignBuild to teach students worldwide how to design projects and implement them on a 1:1 basis. In the process, theaters, schools and hospitals are built in developing countries, for example. These are often used temporarily, and so Pavilion 333 can also be dismantled and rebuilt elsewhere. The flat roof is supported by four main columns, which you can see inside the pavilion. The pavilion's wooden structure was designed with temporary use in mind from the beginning. Therefore, everything is designed to be used multiple times. Even the polycarbonate panels on the sides and the four ceiling-high glass panels are reusable. Two of them are combined with louvered windows, and the other two are opposing entrances. A porch runs around the 12.5-by-12.5-meter cube, which is six meters high, extending the pavilion into the public space. The porch is flush with the front edge of the roof. The gray curtain connects the roof and veranda and serves as a sunshade and privacy screen.

Das Gebäude ist barrierefrei zugänglich.
