Thousands of people are out and about in the Kunstareal every day, as residents, visitors, students and international guests. Europe's largest cultural cluster is not only home to numerous museums, galleries and universities, but also includes some of the most beautiful green spaces in Munich. These are already used intensively for sports, strolling and sunbathing, especially in the summer months. The "Open Kunstareal" ideas competition aims to increase the quality of the public space in the long term. The diversity of the institutions in the Kunstareal should also be reflected in the open spaces. The ideas submitted may include open space design elements or furniture as well as (artistic) interventions, projects or installations.
