Six international and five national participants in the competition submitted ideas. Atelier Roberta from Paris, Anca Benera and Arnold Estefán from Bucharest and Vienna, Raphael Hefti from Zurich, the Kooperative für Darstellungspolitik, raumlaborberlin, Regina Möller and Tino Sehgal from Berlin, Samuel Treindl from Münster, Sonia Leimer from Vienna, The Very Many from New York City and Büro 2001 from Esch-Alzette/Luxembourg took part. The jury unanimously voted in favour of implementing the "Kunstgarten" submission.

The Free State of Bavaria and the City of Munich are working closely together to define the next steps in the process. The common goal is to announce the next steps at the end of 2024.
