Exactly one year ago, in July 2023, the Free State of Bavaria and the City of Munich initiated the Open Kunstareal ideas competition. And we can proudly say: with great success! Six international and five national competition participants presented their ideas to the jury a few weeks ago. The goal of generating a wide range of ideas to enhance the quality of stay in the open spaces of the Kunstareal has been achieved. Invited individuals and offices from the fields of architecture, landscape architecture, design, art, and urban planning have developed their visions for the public space in the Kunstareal. All submissions are displayed in a public exhibition in the Immatriculation Hall of the Technical University of Munich (TUM), Arcisstraße 21.
Specially designed workshops invite children and teenagers to discuss and be creative, enriching the exhibition with the views, ideas, and suggestions of young Munich residents.
Opening hours:

July 24 to July 30, 2024: daily from 11 AM to 5 PM

12 PM to 2 PM: Opinion Images | Collage Art Workshop
In this workshop, selected contributions from the ideas competition will be discussed and evaluated. Participants will create their own pictogram for their favorite. This will be applied to a cardboard block using colored adhesive films and tapes. The finished blocks will be stacked into a large statement.
3 PM to 5 PM: Wolpertinger | Model Building Workshop
Here it's all about crossover! Participants consider which individual aspects of the submitted ideas are the most fun and make the most sense for children and teenagers. These will then be made into spatial, completely individual models from various materials.
Participation in the workshops is free of charge. Due to limited space, registration is required: info@kunstareal.de
