FAQs

What do I have to submit to participate?

The design must be uploaded in PDF/X format (DIN A 2, portrait format). We also need a preview image of the design as a jpg. You can find the complete requirements in the conditions of participation.
In addition, the following personal details must be entered when registering via the application form:

Availability (telephone number, e-mail address)
Website (optional)

A valid e-mail address is a prerequisite for participation in the competition. This must be confirmed after uploading and sending the application form. Participation without a verified e-mail address is unfortunately not possible.

If you would like to submit your design as a team, the names of all team members must be stated.

Only one design may be uploaded per participant.

How are the prizes awarded?

After the submission deadline, all designs will be published on kunstareal.de/plakatwettbewerb. All interested parties can then vote for their favorite motif in a public online voting. The motif with the most votes in the voting will receive the public prize (€ 2,500). The 10 motifs with the most votes will then be judged by a jury. The motif that receives the most points in the jury evaluation will receive the jury prize (€2,500). It is possible for a motif to win both the public prize and the jury prize.

What happens to the 1,000 printed posters?

The posters are distributed free of charge by the Kunstareal office to Kunstareal fans, employees or partners. They are distributed at selected events in the Kunstareal or during guided tours. They can also be used for competitions, for example. Particularly large fans can also order the poster directly from the Kunstareal office free of charge.

Do I need to upload the signed terms and conditions?

Only if you are under 18 years old. Depending on your age, the following applies:

- Under 18 (ages 16 & 17): Signature of one legal guardian on page 9.

- Under 16: Signatures of all legal guardians on page 10.

- 18 or older: No upload required.

Simply upload the document with the required signature(s) via the application portal at kunstareal.de/plakatwettbewerb.
