After-Work at Kunstareal: Welcome Internationals
For everyone who is new to Munich or part of the international community, we offer the programme series “After-Work at Kunstareal: Welcome Internationals.”
Every two to three months, we invite participants to a different institution within the Kunstareal. During a guided tour, you will get to know the host institution and gain insights into its exhibitions, collections, and cultural work. Afterwards, the evening continues with a relaxed get-together, offering space to meet new people and connect with Munich’s international community.
Each event highlights the diversity of the museums and cultural institutions within the Kunstareal. Whether you have just arrived in Munich, recently started a new job or study programme, or simply want to discover the city’s cultural scene.

The Lenbachhaus invites you to a guided tour of the exhibition “Beyond the World. The Blue Rider.” Following a welcome, you will enjoy a guided tour of the exhibition, featuring highlights and new acquisitions from the world’s largest Blue Rider collection. With more than 240 works, it explores the movement’s artistic innovation, international connections, and lasting influence. After the tour, join us for a get-together in the museum garden with drinks from Aqua Monaco and freshly baked Brezeln from Julius Brantner Brothandwerk. As the Lenbachhaus will remain open until 10 pm on September 3, you are also welcome to explore the museum’s other exhibitions. Drinks and music will round off the evening under the special light of Olafur Eliasson’s “Wirbelwerk”.

In the early years of the twentieth century, a circle of artists, women as well as men, came together in Munich. They shared a vision and the resolve to renew art and change society. Featuring over 240 works, the exhibition presents highlights and new acquisitions from the world’s largest Blue Rider collection. It also explores the movement’s international network, pioneering achievements, and lasting relevance for artistic innovation, personal freedom, and cultural exchange. After the tour, join us for a get-together in the museum garden with drinks from Aqua Monaco and freshly baked Brezeln from Julius Brantner Brothandwerk. On September 3, the Lenbachhaus will remain open until 10 pm, giving you the opportunity to explore the museum’s other exhibitions as well. Until 10 pm, there will be drinks and music – all under the special light of Olafur Eliasson’s “Wirbelwerk”!
